As part of the national test of Emergency Notification Systems tomorrow (Wednesday, November 9, 2011), in addition to our regular 2:00pm test of the emergency siren, Webber will also send a Nixle emergency test alert tomorrow at 2:00pm. This is only a test; if there were an actual emergency, you would receive a text message with important information.
As you know, if it's anytime except 2:00pm Wednesday and you hear the siren, you need to lock the door and hit the floor, because something really, really bad is going on. But, if you want to know what is going on and what you need to do next, you'll need to subscribe to Nixle text notifications, because that’s how Webber gets emergency information out fast.
Nixle doesn't cost you anything to join (though this is a text notification, so if you pay for texts, you'll pay for these), and lets you get emergency text notifications on your phone or other device. You can join at www.nixle.com (our ZIP code is 33827... you should be able to find us pretty easily for there), or from your mobile phone, just SMS the word WEBBER to 888777 and follow the instructions in the confirmation you receive.
And remember, bookmark www.WebberEmergency.com, the official emergency notification site of Webber International University.
